By Ceppi

Although as the series progresses, Stéphane becomes more mature, he remains a young man of modest origins who is in many ways fragile, introverted, and who sometimes falls prey to the traps of life and travel. Forced to flee Geneva after a foolish mistake, he first finds himself in the canton of Valais, and then continues his voyage to Italy, Turkey and as far as India. Daniel Ceppi, the series's author, takes the reader on the hippie trail to the East, drawing a uncompromising picture of the various characters who cross paths with Stéphane. The hero and his companions (young women and men) are ultimately very representative of the "Coca-Cola generation". With a minimum of education, they have little contact with the local indigenous peoples, though they never show the slightest feeling of superiority towards them and they are not indifferent to the injustices they witness. Ceppi displays great narrative mastery in this series, which bears the mark of lived experience, which is reinforced by an attention to detail in the settings.
